| This website is based on the question asked, usually in a sarcastic manner "What is going on in that head of yours?" |
As you can see lots of weird stuff. Sketches scribbled down in moments of inspiration, fustration, sometimes boredom. Mainly characters based on people that I come across in everyday life, which probably explains why a lot of it looks weird, because lets face it, people are weird. OK, OK, interesting and diverse...especially the ugly ones. |
| Every time I pick up a pencil it's journey in to the unknown. Sometimes, I have a bit of an idea but most of the time the journey the drawing takes out of my head, down my arm, through the pencil and on to the paper is a whimsical one developing as I draw. Or, they may start as spontaneous bursts of scribbling which, I guess, technically is known as doodling but still conscious of the act of drawing rather than sub-conscious mark making one does while on the phone or in a meeting. It would be trite to say they come without any agendas or pre-conceptions but there is an aspect of them that illustrates what lurks in the dark recesses of my id. Or, maybe one of those real life weirdos that I seem to notice has set up camp in my grey matter and decided to escape at that particular doodling moment. Who knows. But when, as in my day job, I take other peoples ideas and set them to paper and hear, "That's JUST how imagined it" I consider it a bloody miracle. |
| Well, it's something I seem to be quite good at and it's taken me a while to accept that. So enough of the tortured artist and get your work out there, which is another reason this website. |
